Yvonne Hoelzel Jewellery

Elegance is achieved when all that is superfluous has been discarded and the human being discovers simplicity and concentration: the simpler and more sober the posture, the more beautiful it will be.

Why.

I started Yvonne Hoelzel Jewellery because I could not find understated and simple jewellery for an everyday wear, that is locally made, affordable and most of all long lasting. My beautiful pieces of luxury are accessible without the high mark ups.

From the very beginning I focussed on working with high quality and enduring materials from precious metals and genuine gemstones. All pieces are handcrafted in small numbers from recycled solid gold and recycled 925 or 999 silver that can last a life time. I carefully source handmade chains that accompany my Jewellery pieces. My jewellery pieces are all gender neutral and made to be worn everyday and forever.

Where.

I am lucky to be able to make all my jewellery in about 10 square metres of space within the lounge of my apartment in North Vancouver, Canada. It is a very small space but I want to keep it this way as I love to have just the items I need to create my jewellery. I love travelling and want to be able to create when I am on the road - so I won’t have a large work space until I decide to settle down somewhere.

Who.

My background is in the Fashion and Beauty industry that I explored during studying in Germany. My career first began working in front of the camera, modelling world wide for numerous companies, including jewellery brands. I travelled a lot and often with little luggage. During the time modelling I have always been very inquisitive picking every artists’ brain behind the camera to learn and to see what else I could discover and do. Still in Germany I decided to start focussing on makeup artistry. However, the travel bug caught up with me and took me to Australia where I lived for 6 years, became Australian and then moved to Vancouver, Canada to change things up a little bit.

Travelling, and most of all moving to different countries taught me to live life simply, have less but don’t necessarily deprive yourself of beautiful things, like jewellery.

What.

So here I am giving you my inspiration of simplicity, resilience and equanimity in jewellery.

With Love, Yvonne
